John Cooper

 

 

John Cooper has been a source of searching for a long time. He was born about 1771 in northern Mississippi and died abt. 1839 in Perry county, Tennessee. He married Nancy Ann Pyles. She was born about 1786.

John was found in 1799 and 1816 in Sumner county, Tennessee. Listed 1831 on the Armstrong rolls, Choctaw Nation, Kopanna Creek on Chickasawhay River in Clarke County, Mississippi.

John Cooper was Captain of the Choctaws and had fought in the Seminole War 1817-1818

Choctaw Case number 1418. The basis for application for the Dawes rolls in Oklahoma then Indian Territory. Part of the family was included and part was denied.

John and Nancy had 8 children.
