Contributers to the Crites Family

The earliest known ancestor of the Crites family was Devault Crites. He was born about 1735 in Germany and died about 1805 in Missouri. He married Sophia about 1765. The name that has currently been circulating for Sophia is Fonney, I have seen no proof that this is correct. I have heard of no record that mentions her maiden name. Therefore is anyone has a document to confirm what her maiden name actually was I would be very interested in hearing about it. Sophia was born about 1740. They had 7 children.
