Irvin H. Parson was born December 30,1894 and died October 18, 1960 in Jonesboro, Craighead county, Arkansas. He married Marie Smith on September 24,1922 in Craighead county, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Al Smith and Margaret Vanhorn. She was born July 10,1902 in Craighead county, Arkasnas and died October 1, 1974 in Skilcare Nursing Home, Jonesboro, Craighead county, Arkansas. Irvin was World War I veteran who fought in France. Arkansas Private, Company D, 41st Division.
According to Obituary in the Jonesboro Evening Sun his survivors include his wife Mrs. Marie Smith Parson; a son Kelcy Leon Parson of Jonesboro;four sisters and one brother. Sisters:Mrs. Ella Lakey of Route 2, Jonesboro;Mrs. Henrietta Miles of Burlington, North Carolina; Mrs. Hattie Bennet of Route 2,Bono; and Mollie Wiles of Kingsport, Tennessee. His brother Aaron Parson of Tuscumbia, Alabama. Irvin also had one half sister Mrs. Lillie Cox of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Both are buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bono, Craighead county, Arkansas. Marriage ceremony performed by W. L. Watkins. Both were from Bono. Irvin was 23 and Marie was 20 at time of marriage.(Book V, page 0151, Craighead county, Arkansas.
