Amanda Berger

Services for Amanda Berger, 92, 726 West fourteenth, will be at 2;30 p.m. Monday in the Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Delbert Akin and Carl Denham officiating, with burial in Midland Cemetery under direction of Criswell funeral home.

Mrs. Berger died at 4:35 a.m. Friday in a local hospital after an illness of nine days. She was born May 18,1871 at Huntsville, Tenn., to alvin Laxton and Pernita Pennington Laxton, attended school in Tennessee and Texas, and came here from Texas in 1889.

She was married in February, 1894 to Samuel Francis Berger who preceeded her in death in February 1940.

Survivors are four daughters, Lilly Shook, Mary Bonda and Amanda McDonald, all of Ada and Alma Maddox, Stratford; one son, S. L. Berger, Fort Worth, Tex; three sisters Violate Lay, Elk City and Sara Marshall and Allie Harlmon, both of Burling, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-granchildren.
