Funeral services for J. A. Hill, 87-year-old Sulpher resident, were held Thursday afternoon, October 7, at 2:30 p.m. from the Baptist Church in Mayesville, Oklahoma

Rev. High conducted the service and Interment was made in the Mayesvill Cemetery.

Mr. Hill passed away at 7:50 Wednsday morning, October 6, at his home 923 West 16th street, Sulpher following a long illness. He was born February 10,1861 in Georgia. He moved to Indian Territory in 1895, first settling 18 or 19 miles North of Sulpher at Heart, Oklahoma. He later was a resident of Roff and Konawa. In 1922 he moved to Mayesville, living there until 1941, when he moved to Sulphur to make his home.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lurrah Hill, of the home address; two sons, Bill Hill of Sulpher and Clyde Hill of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Mrs Myrtle Forhand of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Ada Ray of Wewoka and Mrs. Ida Berger, of Vanos and one step daughter Mrs. Birdie Allen of Holdenville.
