Contributed by Annetta Mullings The Free Press Lawrenceburg, Tenn May 17,1876 Died At his residence in Lawrence county, on the 13th inst., Mr. John H. Linam, aged 88 years, 6 months and 12 days. He was born in Union District, South Carolina, the 28th day of October 1787, and was married to Miss Judith Teague, (who still survives him) on the 21stof January, 1808. He moved to Lawrence county, Alabama, in March 1823. In March 1824 he settled in Lawrence county, Tennessee, six miles west of Lawrenceburg on the waters of Crowson's creek. where he resided until his death. He was industrious and honest. He was a great lover of flowers and before the war he had as pretty a garden, with as great a variety which was admired by hundreds. He was a good citizen, a most excellent neighbor a kind husband and a good father. His funeral was preached by the Rev. J. H. Strayhorn on Mondy the 15th inst, at 9 a.m.at his late residence, after which his friends laid him away in the family grave yard; there to rest until God shall bid him rise. He left an aged and infirm widow, (who will soon follow), also children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, with numerous friends to lament his loss.
