J.W. ODEN DIES AT TUSCON, ARIZONA
John W. Oden 54, native of Craighead county, died Monday mornign at 6 o'clock in a hospital in Tucson, Arizona. He had moved to Tuscon about a year age. The remainder of his life had been spent in this section of Arkansas where he had farmed.
The remains are being shipped to Jonesboro and funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Shiloh Methodist Church, conducted by Elder Jewel McCrackin. Interment will be in shiloh Cemetery in charge of the Farmers Union Funeral Home.
Mr. Oden was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vera Oden; his mother, Mrs. Virginia Powers, of Jonesboro Route 2; one daughter Miss Helen Oden, of St. louis; one son Leonard, of Jonesboro, one sister Mrs. Edith Sears, Jonesboro Route 2; one half sister Mrs. Cora Berry, of Brookland; three brothers, Oren of Bay, Vernon of Jonesboro Route 2 and Arthur of San Bernardino, Calif.;and 3 grandchildren.
