William C. Wood

Funeral services form William Carl Wood, retired Frisco railroad employe and former Adan, will be at 10 a.m. Wednsday in the Chapman Funderal Home Chapel in Tishomingo. Burial will be in Tishomingo Cemetery.

Wood was born August 22,1879 Capohi, Mississippi (Copiah county) He had completed 35 years of service with the Frisco Rilroad before his retirement. Wood lived in Ada from 1916 until 1945.

He leaves the wife, Mrs. Mary E. Wood; two sons, Sam of Ada and Hugh of Kingston, six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mary Hayes of Ft. Worth, Texas

Rites Held Here for W. C. Wood

Funeral Services were held at the Chapman Chapel Wednsday morning for William Carl Wood, 79, former Tishomingo councilman and retired railway worker, who died at a Durant Hospital early Monday.

Mr. Wood suffered a heart attack at his home at Kingston late Sarutday and apparentley was recovering until just a few hours before, his death. Born at Capiah, Miss. August 22, 1879, Mr. Wood worked 42 years for the Frisco railroad and on his retirement in 1944 moved to tishomingo. He served on the city council for two terms as water commissioner. IN 1955 he moved to Kingston to make his home.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Eddie Vessels, pastor of the First Baptist church of Kingston, and burial was in the Tishomingo cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Estelle of the home; two sons Hugh of Kingston and Sam of Ada; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were J. C. Cobb, E. B. Rush, Lester Russell and George B. Sherritt, all of Tishomingo; and Frank Massey and Homer Wilkins, both of Kingston.
