W. N. Brown Dies at Home of a Daughter

W. N. Brown, one of the early residents of Stephens county, died early this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Pickett, northeast of Comanche.

Brown came to Indian Territory 41 years ago this month. He had settled near Comanche, homesteading on the place on which he died. During the last few years Broan had retired from active work or participation in community affairs. Since the death of his wife, he had spent his time at the homes of his children of whom nine are living.

Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Mary Pickett, Mrs. Minnie Pickett, Mrs. Sarah Johnston, Mrs. Rebecca Brown, and Mrs. Sylvia Hockett, all living in or near Comanche; Mrs. Alice Martin of Duncan and Mrs. Cleytis Branch of Ada and two sons, George Brown of Konawa and Clarence who lives at Seminole.

There are 41 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, C.M. Brown, Lindsay and Grant Brown, Atkins, Arkansas and three sisters, Mrs. A. J. Peck, Bethany, Mrs. O. McCarty, Lindsay and Miss Alice Brown, Duncan.

Funeral services directed by the Beeson Grantham Funeral Home will be held at the Comanche First Baptist Church at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The Rev. Simeon Charleston will officiate assisted by the Rev. J. R. Bruce. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery at Comanche.
