Will of James Sears

in the Name of God Amen I James Sears of Hampshir County and Colony of Virginia being weak of Body but of sound memory blessed be God Do this thenth day July in ye year of our Lord on Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Two make and Publish this my last will and Testament in manner Following that is to say first I desire all my debts may be paid secondly I give and bequeath to my Dear Wife her Lawful third also I give to my wife the red Cow and ye Young Mare and ye rest of my moveables to be Praisd and divided Among my children also my Land that I hold on the --South Fork I give part to my son John that is One hundred and Eighty acres and ye upper part where on I dwell to My son William and also my will is that my Son William is to pay to his Sister Catherine Shook Twenty pounds likewise to my son John is to pay his Sister Mary Willson Twenty pounds. Current money each legicy to be Paid in one Year after my deceas Likewise I make my son William and my son John Sears my right and lawful Executors of this my Last Will Intrust for the Intent and purposes as that my Will 621 contained in withness where of I ye said James Sears have to this last Will and Testament set my hand and seal ye day and year above written. Signed sealed and delivered by ye Said James Sears as and for his last Will and Testament in present of us who where present at the signing and sealing thereof

At a Court held for Hampshire County the 12th day of august 1783 This las Will and Testament of James Sears Deced was presented In court by Willam Sears and John Sears the Executors within Named proved by the oath of Herman Shuch and Stephen Hedger the Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and On the Motion of the said Executors who mage oath according to Law Certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form.
