Know all men by these presents that I, William Sears of Todd county, Ky. being of sound mind and disposing memory do constitite and make this my last will and testament in the words following:

First I wish all my just debts and funeral expenses paid

Second I will to my wife Susan M. Sears one choice horse saddle and bridle, one cow and calf, one bed and bedding, the cupboard with glass light and cotton wheel.

3rd I give unto my son John Sears the tract of land on which he now lives for his portion.

4th I give unto my daughter Sarah Latham and my daughter Jane Greenfield and to my daughter Susan M. Crouch and to my daughter Eliza Driskill and my daughter Juliann Sherrod what they have had to be their portion until my personal estate is sold and the proceeds of the same are collected which I wish equally divided among my six above named daughters with the exception of one seventh which I inted for my daughter Mary Lathams children.

5th I give unto my son Fredercik Sears all of the tract of land on which he now lives including all on North West side of the Greenville Road to be his portion until after my death and his mothers death and then I wish him to have the tract of land on which I now live.

6th I give unto my daughter Mary Lathams children, Stephen Lathams first wife, one seventh part of my personal estate after my death.

7th I give unto my grandaughter Margaret Sears, wife of Leonard Sears what she has had for her portion.

8th I give unto Jacob Shoulders one bed and bed clothing and I wish for him to live with my wife after my death.

9th If I should died before next fall I wish what provision is on hand to remain for the use of my wife and what should be raised on the farm this year to be for her use and benefit.

10th I appoint my sons John Sears and Frederick Sears Executors of this my last will and testament. Given under my hand April 6, 1852

I William H. Wells clerk Todd county Court aforesaid do Certify that at a County Court begun and held for Todd county Commonwealth of Kentucky at the Court House in the Town of Elkton on Monday the 14th day of June 1852. The foregoing instument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of William Sears deceased was produced in open court and proven in the court by the oathe of Patrick Carneal and George Driskill subscribing witnesses thereto to be the act and deed of the said William Sears and the said instrument of writing was ordered to be recorded whereupon I have truly recorded the same together with this Certificate in my office.
